Design by Debbie Radtke You don't have to go to Antarctica to play with penguins when you have a few of these little guys around. Size: From 7" to 9" (18 to 23 cm) tall. Size will vary with yarn used and the amount of felting. Yarn Requirements: Choose a DK wt (8 ply) wool that will felt easily and firmly and a thick "fur-like" synthetic novelty yarn. 110 yds (101m) black wool;110 yds (101m) black novelty yarn;100 yds (91m) natural white wool (see Caution below);55 yards (50m) orange wool. Penguin Hat & Scarf use small amounts and are designed to use up left over yarns. Needles: 16" (40cm) circular and set of double pointed needles in US size 11 (8mm). Note: If you cannot find orange eyes you can make them by painting the backs of clear animal eyes with acrylic paint in your choice of color or by placing colored felt behind the eye.
