October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Dancing Ewe Yarns & Teas will join the fight to find a cure for breast cancer.
Each of us has a story about the tragic and painful effects this disease has on our lives and the lives of our families and friends. Personally, I have watched several of my friends courageously fight this disease. I want to dedicate the efforts of Dancing Ewe Yarns & Teas to my dear friend Chris. Chris has been fighting this disease for many years and has just ended another treatment regime. She is doing well and I congratulate her. She is one of my heros.
Susan G. Komen For The Cure is the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. The foundation is "dedicated to curing breast cancer at every stage - from the causes to the cures, to the pain and anxiety of every moment in between."
The goal of Susan G. Komen For The Cure "is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find cures."

This month we will be launching a Breast Cancer Awareness Scarf Kit. We will donate $5.00 from the sale of every kit purchased to Susan G. Komen For The Cure. www.komen.org
 Each kit is $35 and will include: yarn, pattern, a Susan G. Komen For Cure Running Ribbon Pin, and an instructional guide on performing a Breast Self-Exam. There are two different kits available. One features Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb Yarn. The other features Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted Yarn. Also, each kit is available in two colorways, Lorna's Laces "Tickeled Pink" and Lorna's Laces "Whisper". Both yarns are luxurious, soft and wonderful to wear. Your efforts will make a provocative statement about your support to fight breast cancer everytime you wear your hand knit scarf.
Our initial GOAL is to raise $500. Although we know this is a modest amount, every bit counts. We are confident we can reach our goal and would be delighted to surpass it. WITH YOUR HELP this will happen.
To support our sisters fighting breast cancer Dancing Ewe Yarns & Teas will host A KNIT FOR THE CURE DAY Tuesday, October 28, 2008. We encourage everyone who can attend to bring their completed scarf or scarf in process and join us as we KNIT FOR THE CURE. Refreshments will be served.
